Labor Day 2023 is on Monday, September 4. It is a federal holiday to celebrate American workers and “to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being,” according to the U.S. Department of Labor. It was also intended as a day of rest for workers.
Unofficially it also marks the end of summer—although summer in the Northern Hemisphere officially ends on September 23, 2023.
