Canada Day is a national holiday that is celebrated on July 1. It is the day that the Constitution Act of 1867 united Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the areas that are now called Ontario, Quebec and Labrador into one nation. The day was originally called Dominion Day but was officially rename in 1982 as Canada Day.
The day is celebrated with parades, festivals, concerts, picnics and more activities with family and friends. Canada.ca offers information and links for the daytime ceremony, evening show, fireworks and more.
