On March 10, 2024 Daylight Saving Time starts, which means we need to set our clocks one hour ahead. Daylight Saving Time will end on November 3, 2024. An easy way to remember this is “Spring Ahead” and “Fall Back.”

The purpose of this time change is to provide more daylight in the evenings during warmer months. This results in a later sunrise and less sunlight in the morning. Since the point is to save daylight, the correct name is Daylight Saving Time, not Daylight SavingS time.

There is disagreement about whether to keep changing the clocks twice a year, whether to make standard time permanent or to make daylight saving time permanent. Regardless of one’s opinion, on March 10, 2024 everyone will be able to discuss this an hour later than usual.
